This year the Premm team headed to Kew Gardens for our sparkling Christmas party. Christmas at Kew is a magical light trail across the gardens at night, showcasing everything from dynamic laser projections, tunnels of light and illuminated trees.
Now in its 7th year, the event had grown the trail with new immersive pieces, but also still hosted some original features such as the flickering Fire Garden and the singing Holly Bushes.
One of our favourite installations was the Treetop Walkway, where ribbons of light hung down, mimicking a cascading waterfall of light, and underneath the mysterious fairy fire lit up the floor to enchanting festive music. The immersive vine tunnel was also a close second favourite providing great photographic opportunities!
The boys also decided to have a go on the helter-skelter that appeared in the middle of the trail alongside a merry go round and a variety of mulled wine stalls. This provided a chance for a well-needed warming drink to keep us going and also was a nice surprise and a bit of fun for all ages!
This year’s spectacular was the laser projection onto the fountain just outside the famous Palm House. Christmas songs played as the projection displayed a variety of abstract and also illustrative designs.
This event truly shows how far working with light has come on since our last visit around 5 years ago, technology such as projection mapping has become more prominent and what was also obvious were the numerous opportunities and prompts for visitors to get involved through taking photos and videos for social media.
Certainly a beautiful night out and the perfect work Christmas party!
