Organised by the English Football League (EFL),
the Carabao Cup is open to any club within the top four levels
of the English football league system – 92 clubs in total.
Our role in this project was to support the in-house creative team at the EFL in updating materials from the previous final to bring them in line with the 2022 look and feel. Within Wembley Stadium itself, this included a wide variety of large-format materials from the team dugout and tunnel areas to interview backdrops and the flags that lined Wembley Way. There were also a number of items within the range that could only be completed once the finalists were confirmed, as they featured the crests of the respective clubs.
Ahead of the final itself, there was a media event held at the Leadenhall Building and we were tasked with the production of materials to brand the venue's windows and walls. This included creating 'The Road to Wembley' – a 9m wide graphic showing every result in the competition and plotting Chelsea and Liverpool's respective routes to the final.
