An Antarctic Exploration

Wednesday 04 April 2018

The Polar Museum at the Scott Polar Research Institute contacted Premm in regards to creating a children’s’ activity leaflet for families to use to follow a self-guided trail around the museum. The trail focuses on the so-called ‘Heroic Era of Exploration’, in particular making connections to the collections relating to the Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. The leaflet allows the user to create their own ‘Shackleton’ inspired journey through a variety of...

RHS Qualifications stand at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2017

Our work with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) covers a wide range of the organisation’s activities – from their gardens to membership, retail and education. One such project for RHS Qualifications saw us tasked with creation of graphic panels for their stand at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, which was built to look like a miniature potting shed! The panels were a mixture of inspirational quotes, engaging imagery and info graphics, all styled to sit comfortably within the space and...

Watching the Watchman

Thursday 27 October 2016

Kevin was fortunate enough to be able to attend last night’s talk by comics legend Dave Gibbons at The Lightbox gallery and museum in Woking. It was a great opportunity to hear from a man who has been involved in the creation of some of the most iconic characters in comics, from his work on 2000AD to Dr Who, Green Lantern, Superman, Batman, Martha Washington and, of course, Watchmen. The illustrated lecture on his career had an educational focus to it, from Dave’s own schooldays –...

The Great Garden Game

Monday 04 April 2016

Discover the secrets of Hampton Court Palace with The Great Garden Game! After being approached by Historic Royal Palaces Premm was asked to create materials to engage and excite children and families visiting this historic site. This was a terrific design brief for us to work with, as we were allowed to be more experimental with the formats we used and production processes involved; to enhance the visitor experience of discovering Hampton Court Palace. The materials we produced comprised of a large...

Poetry in motion

Thursday 16 April 2015

One of the great pleasures of our work is the opportunity we have to collaborate with talented individuals, whether that be photographers, copywriters, model makers or illustrators – bringing their specialist skills to any given project. One such project, back in 2009, was a series of postcards we created with illustrator Chris Haughton, for a UK-wide library campaign to promote the BBC Summer Poetry Season. The project was safely filed away in our archives until we caught up with Chris recently...

Getting animated about our rights

Wednesday 08 April 2015

We are a little over two months away from the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta and our work with the Houses of Parliament on the LiberTeas celebrations is becoming increasingly visible. One of the most recent applications of the branding involved a collaboration with illustrator Andy Potts to create a short animated sequence explaining why the nation is being invited to sit down to tea, to celebrate, debate and reflect on our freedoms and rights on Sunday 14 June at 3pm. Check...

Celebrate, debate and reflect

Thursday 29 January 2015

Recently Premm won a tender to design the branding for a Houses of Parliament campaign entitled LiberTeas. On Sunday 14 June 2015 at 3pm, as part of a UK-wide event, the whole nation will be encouraged to sit down to tea to celebrate, debate or reflect on their liberties. Monday 15 June marks the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta, which was the document that laid the foundations for the rights and representation that we enjoy today. To coincide with this, the Houses of Parliament is...
